In anticipation of the upcoming Rock & Roll Roast of Dee Snider, we’re taking a look back at some highlights from last year’s roast of Zakk Wylde.
Here’s comedian Jim Norton’s segment from the Roast, which features some great one-liners, including, “What an amazing collection of people. If a bomb went off right now, the record industry would lose exactly $500 next year.”
Want to attend the live taping of this year’s Rock and Roll Roast of Dee Snider — sponsored by Epiphone and Monster — on Thursday, January 24, at the Grove in Anaheim, California? The Roast is open to the public this year and will air live on AXS TV at midnight ET (9 p.m. PT).
A portion of the proceeds will benefit MusiCares, a nonprofit organization of The Recording Academy that provides emergency financial assistance and addiction recovery resources to music people in need. Snider was recently named one of the 100 greatest living rock stars by Revolver.

Revolver‘s sister publication, Guitar World, announced today its first-ever Rock & Roll Roast, to be held January 19 at the Grove in Anaheim, CA. Its first guest to make it to the hot seat? Black Label Society frontman and former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde!
Roastmaster Sharon Osbourne and other metal-loving luminaries such as Ozzy Osbourne, Chris Jericho, Anthrax’s Scott Ian, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, as well as comedy and roast veterans Jim Norton, Brian Posehn, Jim Florentine, and more, will all take aim at Wylde, who is best known for his incredible axe chops, his golden locks and his signature Bullseye guitar line. Fresh from her recent stint on the Judas Priest tour, Lady Starlight (Lady Gaga’s resident DJ) will also be on hand to serve as the evening’s official DJ.
Roastee Wylde commented, “How can they roast me? I’m a good Catholic boy…” Roastmaster Sharon Osbourne explained, “Zakk has always called me his Mom, but I think my boy needs a good kicking.” Editorial Director of Guitar World, Brad Tolinski added, “We’re excited to kick-off this new annual event, and who better than Zakk Wylde, to be our first… victim.”
