New album, 'Feel the Power,' out on January 24!

Glam-metal outfit Blessed By a Broken Heart will release their long-awaited new album, Feel the Power, on January 24, the follow-up to 2008′s Pedal to the Metal. In anticipation, the band is proud to unleash its latest single, “Shut up and Rock,” which features a cameo from Dallas Taylor of Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, right here right now. Crank the track below, read what frontman Tony Gambino has to say about the song, and let us know what you think in the comments.

REVOLVER What’s the song about?
TONY GAMBINO “Shut Up and Rock,” well, it’s about just downright having a good time! Feeling the music, not letting people or circumstance get you down.

Which part of it did you come up with first? And what was the inspiration?
We came up with the chorus first. It all just sort of came together: We were all sitting in a room recording guitars for it and someone just said it with those hits. We just knew we had to run with it. The inspiration? I’d say, The haters–this one’s for you.

Was this an easy song to write or record?
This was an easy song to write. Like I said, it just sort of came together, like it was meant to be. Now recording it, that’s a different story. We have over 50 vocal tracks on this song. It has the highest notes on the album. So it was a challenge for sure. And even Dallas Taylor came in smack dab in the middle of a tour, sick as a dog, with his voice almost completely gone. But you know what? We pulled it off.

What sort of feedback have you gotten on this song so far? What sort of reaction do you want to get from the song?
I think we are getting the reaction that we are looking for. People tend to love it. It seems to be a sweet relief from this copycat serious music you hear all the time. I think the rest of the world will feel the same way.
