On April 24, an all-star cast of musicians played at Whisky A Go Go in Pomona, California, as part of the Battlefield of the Mind event. The benefit concert raised money and awareness for the Boot Campaign and their support of military veterans. Artists such as David Ellefson of Megadeth, Troy McLawhorn of Evanescence, Sal G of Staind, and many more performed songs off the Battlefield Of The Mind documentary soundtrack. Megadeth Streaming New Song, “Super Collider”

Megadeth are streaming the title track from their new album, Super Collider, over at their YouTube page, MegadethTV.

You can check it out below.

The song also is available at iTunes now for $1.29. Super Collider — the album — is scheduled for a June 4 release via Dave Mustaine’s new label, Tradecraft, which is distributed by Universal Music Enterprises (UMe).

kind of came from that ‘Symphony of Destruction’ corner of my mind,” Mustaine told Guitar World in the new June 2013 issue. “You can’t always play aggressive, thrashy stuff. Sometimes those aren’t even songs; they’re like musical rams.

“But because I’m not a pop guy, I’m also not really comfortable playing sing-along songs. To me, ‘Super Collider’ made sense like a normal song — a verse-chorus-verse-chorus kind of thing. It’s written the way a real songwriter would write the song, instead of just taking all these musical twists and turns.”

Megadeth have revealed the cover art of their new album, Super Collider, which is set for a June 4 release via main man Dave Mustaine’s new label, Tradecraft, which is distributed by Universal. Songs include “Forget To Remember” and “Dance in The Rain” (both written with David Draiman of Disturbed and Device), “A House Divided,” “The Blackest Crow,” “Super Collider,” “Burn,” “King Maker,” and “Don’t Turn Your Back”, a snippet of which can be streamed at MegadethGame.com.

Hard rockers Soil have been recording their next album, called Whole, which sees them reunited with original vocalist Ryan McCombs, who was in Drowning Pool. While in Los Angeles, the band also played a one-off show in Hollywood at the Whisky on March 30. Our own Stephanie Cabral was there to catch the action. Video: Megadeth Post Behind-the-Scenes ‘Super Collider’ Studio Clip

Over the weekend, Megadeth posted another behind-the-scenes clip from their Super Collider recording sessions.

The video below, which was filmed in February, features David Ellefson (clad in a Guitar World logo T-shirt), Dave Mustaine and Chris Broderick recording tracks at Vic’s Garage studio in San Marcos, California, which is in northern San Diego County. For those of you keeping count, this is Super Collider studio update No. 11.

Super Collider will be released in June on Mustaine’s new label, Tradecraft.
