On February 15, we at Revolver magazine held a press conference to announce the 2012 Golden Gods Awards, presented by Epiphone! In attendance were some legendary artists and athletes, including Alice Cooper, Korn’s Munky, Black Label Society’s Zakk Wylde, Hellyeah’s Vinnie Paul, Sixx:A.M.’s James Michael, Kill Devil Hill and Heaven and Hell’s Vinny Appice, Black Veil Brides’ Andy Biersack and Ashley Purdy, Adrenaline Mob’s Mike Portnoy and John Moyer (the latter is also of Disturbed fame), Steel Panther’s Michael Starr, Wendy Dio (wife of Ronnie James Dio), and pro motocross rider Brian Deegan of Metal Mulisha. Some of the artists even presented items to the GRAMMY Museum’s Bob Santelli and Andie Cox for its new exhibit, Golden Gods: The History of Heavy Metal, which opens the same day as the Revolver Golden Gods.
