For the show portion, GWAR will be supported by Municipal Waste, Corrosion of Conformity, Pig Destroyer and many more.

GWAR loves barbeque so much that they can show off their newly released barbeque sauce at the event. The band said the formula of GWAR-B-Q is “mostly made out of the blood of really hot chicks. It was a terrible waste of fine ass, but ultimately worth it because this sauce is absolutely delicious.”

The event is scheduled for Saturday August 17 in Richmond, VA.

The compilation called Patlapse features artists such as Dillinger Escape Plan, Mastodon, Baroness, Pig Destroyer, Death and many more.

Egan, Relapse’s Director of Sales, passed away on February 18 after a struggle with pneumonia and related complications.

The bands on the compilation have agreed to waive royalties for the tracks so all of the proceeds of Patlapse will go to a college fund for Egan’s teenager daughter. The album can be found on Bandcamp for $5, but more can be donated.

The label released this statement: “If you were lucky enough to know Pat, you will remember him as a fun, funny, hardworking, passionate lifelong metalhead who left an impression on EVERYONE he came in contact with. If you never got a chance to meet him, but you’re familiar with Relapse Records or some of the bands on the label, Pat was instrumental in the success of almost all of the bands and records Relapse has released over the past decade. ”

You can check out and purchase Patlapse here.

Here, Dave Brockie a.k.a. Oderus Urungus (pictured left), vocalist of GWAR, selects his faves.

5. Cancer Bats, Dead Set on Living
“We had the pleasure of touring with these Canucks and I liked them so much that I actually got their album. Dirty stoner hatred for angry people, the Bats deliver a solid thrust.”

4. The Cory Smoot Experiment, When Worlds Collide
“Cory Smoot, a.k.a. Flattus Maximus, was an incredible musician, and another metal legend we lost much too young. The final act from the man behind the mask is a dark and brooding metal masterpiece.”

3. Municipal Waste, The Fatal Feast
“The Waste’s Nuclear Blast debut never disappoints as the world’s new Ramones (hopefully without the cancer) continue their reign of fun.”

2. Lamb of God, Resolution
“Resolution is what this band has displayed over their long career in metal, and they continue deliver goods of the highest level. Best of luck, Randy!”

1. Pig Destroyer, Book Burner
“The rise of the Pig continues with this savage return to the primal. Unrelentingly fast, conceptually acute, this record is simply mind-blowing.”

5. Sun Kil Moon, Among The Leaves
“Another brilliant record from one of the best musicians out there today.”

4. Neurosis, Honor Found In Decay
“A potent and evolved new album from one of my all-time favorite bands in heavy music.”

3. Pig Destroyer, Book Burner
“Every Pig Destroyer album raises the bar for technical and intense music. They do it again here.”

2. Code Orange Kids, Love is Love // Return to Dust
“A frantic debut album, and just the beginning from this great young band.”

1. Torche, Harmonicraft
“Melodic yet intensely heavy music from some great friends. Recommended.”

Here, vocalist JR Hayes (pictured far right) and guitarist Scott Hull (pictured second from left) of the grindcore band Pig Destroyer, select their faves.

JR Hayes:

5. Haarp, Husks
“More subtle and moody than their ultra brutal debut. This one took a while to grow on me, but now I’m hooked. Shaun Emmons has one of the most intense roars in all of extreme music.”

4. Testament, Dark Roots of Earth
“A powerful and triumphant statement from these thrash metal lifers. The riffs, the leads, the drumming, the production, even the artwork–this record kills it all the way around.”

3. Author & Punisher, Ursus Americanus
“Just when I thought I’d heard it all, here comes Author & Punisher to blow mind into a thousand pieces. If an evil super computer started a metal band, it would probably sound like this.”

2. NON, Back to Mono
“This was my most anticipated record of the year, and it did not disappoint. Mr. Rice even throws in a couple raw live performances from the ’70s just to show off.”

1. Killing Joke, MMXII
“The Joke have been on a roll for quite a while now, but this album is as good or better than anything they’ve ever done, and they have a list of classic albums as long as your arm.”

Scott Hull:

5. Converge, All We Love We Leave Behind
“Had I gotten this a little sooner, it probably would be the first on my list. I’ve only listened to it once and it is amazing. It’s inspiring to see a band that’s been around continue to improve on themselves and move forward.”

4. Serpentine Path, Serpentine Path
“This CD is super dense. Also kinda like old school. Heavy, loud. This one goes to 11.”

3. Hooded Menace, Effigies of Evil
“Gnarly cross between Celtic Frost and Iron Maiden. I like when old school becomes the new school again.”

2. The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, Danza 4: The Alpha–The Omega
“I suppose this leans more towards the metalcore end of the spectrum, and I hate to use labels. Let’s call them neighborhoods. Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza are close to that neighborhood and I’m not generally there much, but this CD is as catchy as it is heavy. Wasn’t expecting it. Very pleasantly surprised.”

1. Gaza, No Absolutes in Human Suffering
“Everything I had hoped for in a new CD from these guys. Absolutely ripping. Absolutely dark. Gaza doesn’t give a fuck what you think.”

Killer monkeys, animated strippers, eyeball stew, fiery ejaculation, and more!

Sure, music videos aren’t what they used to be since MTV all but dropped the “M.” But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t still bands who give a serious shit about the clips they produce to accompany their songs. 2012 had its share of badass music videos–here are our picks for the 10 best. And if you don’t like our ranking, tell us which video is your favorite in our poll right here.

12. Machine Head, “Darkness Within”
Blood, worms, tight claustrophobic spaces, and perhaps most frightening of all, considering Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe’s legal problems there, the city of Prague, Czech Republic, all feature largely in this dark, disturbing clip for the standout centerpiece song off Machine Head’s Unto the Locust.

11. Asking Alexandria, “Through Sin and Self-Destruction”
No one music video could capture the nonstop sin and insanity that is a day in the life of Asking Alexandria. So the band released three videos this year, making for the epic “Through Sin and Self-Destruction” trilogy, a cinematic roller-coaster ride full of sex, drugs, violence, rock and roll, and more drugs.

10. Lamb of God, “Ghost Walking”
Saying that Lamb of God had quite the year (in both good and bad terms) would be an understatement–from the release their great album Resolution to the arrest of vocalist Randy Blythe in the Czech Republic. A highlight from LOG’s 2012, the band’s video for the single “Ghost Walking” uses first-class animation as it follows a shady-looking character as he seeks to protect top-secret information.

9. Slash, “Bad Rain”
This single from Slash’s second solo album Apocalyptic Love, features the rock god’s top hat and all in an animated video of a strip-tease show gone horribly wrong.

8. In This Moment, “Blood”
The title track of In This Moment’s record features a video that ties together all the spooky and fairy tale-esque imagery of the album’s art. Vocalist Maria Brink isn’t shy about her own sexuality and she just doesn’t care what you think anymore.

7. Black Veil Brides, “Coffin”
Though this song comes of the band’s 2011 EP, Rebels, this candlelit video was released this year. The Black Veil Brides’ glam-metal-tinged hard rock goes grim as they play with fire and snakes.

6. Down, “Witchtripper”
It’s been a while since we heard from Down and even though the Down IV Part I- The Purple EP isn’t a full-length, it packs more high-quality sludge then most bands do in their careers. The video for “Witchtripper” features one of the more bizarre storylines of the Top 10 chosen videos–but what else would we expect from vocalist Phil Anselmo anyway? After some eyeball stew and satanic ceremonies, Down teaches us that metal actually is the devil’s music.

5. Pig Destroyer, “The Diplomat”
This is the first of two videos on this list directed by Phil Mucci (see also No. 1), whose work seems to have distinct editing choices and layers of vibrant colors. After a five-year break between albums, Pig Destroyer dropped this new video that delivers a surefire message: When a jittery diplomat gives AK-47s to monkeys on an alternate planet, it can only lead to a smattering of green guts.

4. Motionless In White, “Devil’s Night”
Fight scenes are pretty much always memorable, and terror scenes are even harder to forget. Motionless In White deliver both here, constantly increasing the numbers of their gang with the use of a straight razor in this twisted West Side Story-like video directed by Cody Blue Snider, son of Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider.

3. Dethklok, “I Ejaculate Fire”
As with most things Dethklok-related, the band’s mere presence brings about a disaster. Is that a Spinx ejaculating fire? Yes. Is this video NSFW? Yes. Is it absurd yet totally funny? Absolutely.

2. Revocation, “The Grip Tightens”
The tech-thrash band comes out of “retirement” to play for the senior-citizen crowd in this hilarious video. Forget about age, they still partake in rock-and-roll debauchery–grandma panties and all.

1. High on Fire, “Fertile Green”
The plot of this visually stunning video may be about as complicated to understand as the concept behind High on Fire’s most recent album, De Vermis Mysteriis. But we’re guessing that if you watch the clip after puffing on a bong a few times, it makes perfect sense. We’re guessing.
