Thrash vets Death Angel recently played famed Sunset Strip club the Whisky for the first time–thrash wasn’t allowed there in the ’80s. Amid a set full of originals, the band also played a cover-song medley, which included cuts from Van Halen, Quiet Riot, and Mötley Crüe. Our own Stephanie Cabral was there, too, capturing all the action. Check out her pics below.

“A Celebration of Randy Rhoads” to be Held Next Month

In tribute to former Ozzy Osbourne and Quiet Riot guitarist Randy Rhoads, his sister Kathryn Rhoads D’Argenzio and the Rhoads family are holding “A Celebration of Randy Rhoads” at D’Argenzio Winery in Burbank, CA, on December 3. The event will give fans and friends the opportunity to spend time with Rhoads’ family and honor his legacy.

The event will feature a performance by Randy Rhoads’ brother Kelle as well as performances by some special guests. There will also be Randy Rhoads memorabilia on display.

Admission to the event is free and open to all ages.

Jani Lane Memorial Concert Scheduled for August 29

A memorial concert has been announced for former Warrant frontman Jani Lane, who passed away on August 11. The tribute will take place on August 29 at the Key Club in Hollywood, California, and is set to bring together several renowned ’80′s rock bands.

Currently slated to appear are Great White, Quiet Riot, L.A. Guns, Enuff Z’nuff, and Slammin’ Gladys. Entry is free with 300 tickets being distributed on a first come, first served basis.
