Metallica have announced the full details of the lineup for their Orion Music + More Festival, which will take place the weekend of June 23 and 24 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. This includes the addition of a punk and thrash stage, dubbed Damage Inc.
Artists who will perform on the Damage Inc. stage include Suicidal Tendencies, Sepultura, Torche, Red Fang, Kyng, Landmine Marathon, Black Tusk, and Thy Will Be Done.
As previously announced, Metallica will perform two headlining sets. One night, they will play their landmark “Black Album” from start to finish, and the other night they will play Ride the Lightning in its entirety for the first time ever.
Not yet announced is the lifestyle portion of the fest, which will reflect the different members of Metallica’s interests.

But unlike the aforementioned two bands or, say, Priestess, who have succeeded in this vein, Red Fang lack any sense of soul. Between Bryan Giles’ dreary vocal performance, occasionally sloppy guitar work, and a complete dearth of memorable riffs, Murder the Mountains, the band’s sophomore full-length, has none of the conviction or drive that makes for good rock. Nor does it have any of the distinctive character that the best bands bring to their sound (like Baroness’s hollow scratchiness or Torche’s strange harmonies). Every disappointingly barebones track plods forward on a straight path until the next song takes its place.
Nothing on Murder the Mountains is bad exactly. But there is also nothing on here that hasn’t been done better by somebody else. And that means it sure isn’t good, either. CLARKE READ

The 2011 Metalliance Tour has moved its Chicago show, scheduled to take place this Sunday, due to recent gang-related activity in the vicinity of the venue. The city imposed a seven-day hold on the venue’s operations license after a fight started in the club and spilled out into the street, resulting in a handgun being fired at least six times. No one was shot but two people involved in the fight were arrested. The show has moved to a new venue called Bada Brew but will otherwise go on as scheduled. All tickets will be honored.
The tour features Helmet, Saint Vitus, Crowbar, Kylesa, Red Fang, Howl, and Atlas Moth, who could all probably hold their own in a gang fight if they had to. Check out the remaining dates below.
