“From Can to Can’t”, the collaboration between Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor (pictured left) and Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl, is available for streaming in the YouTube clip below.
The song will appear on Sound City: Real To Reel, the soundtrack to Grohl’s upcoming documentary, Sound City. The track also features Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen and bassist Scott Reeder, formerly of Kyuss. The soundtrack also includes contributions from Stevie Nicks, Trent Reznor, Rick Springfield, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk of Rage Against the Machine, Joshua Homme of Queens of the Stone Age, and more.

Stone Sour released part one of a two album series, House of Gold & Bones, on Roadrunner Records today. Singer, songwriter, and lyricist Corey Taylor, also the frontman of Slipknot and the bestselling author of last year’s Seven Deadly Sins, wrote the lyrics for the 23 tracks that make up House of Gold & Bones as a linear storyline, which follows the compelling story of a character created by Taylor. Music is just one of the mediums used to tell the story; Corey Taylor recently revealed details of the new project with Dark Horse Comics, House of Gold & Bones which follows, and expands on, the story contained within the albums. It was announced earlier this week that frontman Corey Taylor would also be pinning a comic book also titled House of Gold and Bones, that will go along with the band’s upcoming two albums.
“I’ve been a die-hard fan of comics, on every level, my entire life,” Taylor says. “This has been a dream of mine for years now, and this project was tailor made for a comic, no pun intended. I couldn’t have picked a better company than Dark Horse to make this a reality. I have loved several of their titles for many years, going back to ’92. If we can get this crazy world out of my head and onto the canvas, it’ll be the best thing I’ve ever attempted. And with Dark Horse, I have every confidence that’s exactly what we’ll do.”
The first disc of House of Gold and Bones is out October 22 on Roadrunner.

House of Gold & Bones is a multimedia experience that includes two Stone Sour albums via Roadrunner Records (Release date for Part 1 is October 22; Part 2 will follow in 2013), videos, online presence, album packaging, live shows and the Dark Horse Comics series. Each element will follow and expand on the story.
Taylor, author of last year’s Seven Deadly Sins, wrote the story, plus the lyrics for the 23 tracks that make up the two albums, as a linear story line. The Stone Sour songs set the tone and follow the action, with Taylor’s House of Gold & Bones comic expanding on the story.
Taylor will be signing in the Dark Horse Booth at New York Comic Con 3 p.m. October 13th.
Stone Sour’s House of Gold & Bones Part 1 will be released October 22. House of Gold & Bones issue No. 1 will go on sale April 17, 2013.

This just in: Slipknot and Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor will make a special appearance 3 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, October 13, at this year’s New York Comic Con.
Taylor will be at the Dark Horse Comics booth — pen in hand — to announce a brand-new project.
Those are all the facts we have at the moment, folks, but the results of the project — whatever it turns out to be — are bound to be interesting, since Taylor is a well-known (and self-declared) comic geek.
“I’m such a horror geek, comic geek and action figure geek,” Taylor says on his official website. “I’m inspired by so much, from Hunter S. Thompson and Quentin Tarantino to The Dark Knight and Halloween. Just show me something that doesn’t suck, and I’m happy.”

Dr. Daniel Baldi has been officially charged with involuntary manslaughter in the deaths of eight people, including Slipknot bassist Paul Gray.
Baldi, who is also facing suspension of his medical licence due to administrative charges from the Iowa Board of Medicine, is accused of prescribing irresponsibly high doses of prescription painkillers to his patients. Gray died of an accidental overdose in June of 2010.
The doctor could face up to 16 years in jail if convicted.
“None of it is going to bring back our brother Paul,” Slipknot’s Shawn “Clown” Crahan told the Des Moines Register, adding, “Hopefully justice will be served.”
Update: Slipknot have released an official statement on the matter. It reads:
“As the loss of our brother Paul Gray is still very fresh for us in the Slipknot family, this new development has us all in a state of anger and sadness. The fact that this person took advantage of our brother’s illness while he was in a position to help others has outraged everyone in our family. We can only hope that justice will be served so this can NEVER happen to anyone else ever again! Our thoughts go out to the families of the other victims. We plan to cooperate as much as we possibly can to ensure this tragedy is never repeated, and to make sure this man pays for what he has done.”
