Topshelf Records will be releasing Octaves’ first record, Greener Pastures, on vinyl for the first time on February 26. Originally released in 2010 via CD and digitally, the vinyl version will feature all-new artwork. The Baltimore noise-mongers have been compared to such bands as Dillinger Escape Plan and The Bled. Revolver‘s November/December issue (which you can get by clicking here), features a news item on the Bled frontman James Muñoz. Since his band is calling it quits after a final tour November, Muñoz has been indulging his comedy side, which emerged in such stunts as his 2006 “homage” to former Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz’s leaked nude shots as well as his recent attempt to win Budweiser’s goofy “Band of Buds” competition.
Muñoz has recently been ratcheting up the laughs via a semi-regular Funny or Die gig. ASS—Apartment Sketch Show, finds Muñoz starring as lovable burnout Eddy Spanks in an ensemble series that’s akin to MTV’s The Real World, only with double the profanity and homeless weirdos.
