Unlike previous weeks’ polls, which came down to the wire, this week’s had a clear winner. Groove-metal outfit Thy Will Be Done won the “Album of the Week” poll with their new EP, Temple. Here were the top five vote-getters:

Review: Thy Will Be Done – Temple

For a relatively unknown band to be handpicked by Metallica to play at their Orion Music + More festival this past summer is, you know, just a slightly big deal. And while Thy Will Be Done’s inclusion in that fest has no doubt made some previously unaware fans take notice, their groove metal is solid enough to merit attention in its own right. The band’s third release, Temple, is a six-song EP that really lets the musical low end take the stage much as it does on God Forbid’s output. The most intriguing of these tracks is the single ”You, the Apathy Divine,” which is perhaps what got them on Metallica’s radar in the first place. But even though Temple is an engaging listen, it’s hard not to wonder what a full-length would have sounded like. As far as stop-gap releases go, this one is a bit of a cliffhanger that, for better or worse, leaves us wanting more. SAMMI CHICHESTER

Today, we’re excited to be able to bring you a brand new track from Providence-based metal band Thy Will Be Done. Listen to “You, the Apathy Divine” below.

The track is set to appear on the band’s upcoming new EP, which is tentatively due later this summer. Details will be announced soon, and in the meantime, you can watch a teaser video for the EP below.

And if you’re heading to Atlantic City this weekend, be sure and catch Thy Will Be Done on the Damage Inc. stage Sunday at 1:30 P.M. EST.

Metallica’s Orion Music + More Festival Announces Full Lineup, Including Punk and Thrash Stage

Metallica have announced the full details of the lineup for their Orion Music + More Festival, which will take place the weekend of June 23 and 24 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. This includes the addition of a punk and thrash stage, dubbed Damage Inc.

Artists who will perform on the Damage Inc. stage include Suicidal Tendencies, Sepultura, Torche, Red Fang, Kyng, Landmine Marathon, Black Tusk, and Thy Will Be Done.

As previously announced, Metallica will perform two headlining sets. One night, they will play their landmark “Black Album” from start to finish, and the other night they will play Ride the Lightning in its entirety for the first time ever.

Not yet announced is the lifestyle portion of the fest, which will reflect the different members of Metallica’s interests.
