On November 24, the NOS Event Center hosted California Metalfest VI, which featured a face-ripping lineup including Dillinger Escape Plan (pictured above), As I Lay Dying, Darkest Hour, Animals as Leaders, Pierce the Veil, Unearth, Bleeding Through, Born of Osiris, For Today, and many more. Revolver‘s own Stephanie Cabral was on hand to capture the mayhem, as was photographer Dirt Junior, who shot the photos of Unearth and Thrown Into Exile. Check out all the pics below.

Killswitch Engage, Asking Alexandria, Black Veil Brides to Headline California Metalfest VI

The much-anticipated sixth annual California Metalfest will take place at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, California, Saturday, November 24, with Grammy-nominated, Massachusetts metal band Killswitch Engage headlining.

It’s a special gig for the group, long considered one of the forbearers of the metal resurgence of the ’00s, as they will celebrate the 10th anniversary of their landmark release, 2002′s genre-defining Alive or Just Breathing. To commemorate the album, KSE will play the album in its entirety, from start to finish, as well as other more recent hits.

Ash Avildsen, founder of California Metalfest, had this to say: “Alive or Just Breathing is one of the most important and timeless albums for this era of heavy music. KsE’s special headlining set combined with the rest of the line-up is going to make for an incredible day of metal and memories. Having all these bands in the same place on one day is really exciting as a fan and as a festival producer.”

WWE Superstar “Mankind” Mick Foley will be hosting the festival along with several other stars (TBA) who will be doing signings and appearances. There also will be many carnival-style prize games where fans can win special, limited-edition band merch and memorabilia instead of stuffed animals. California Metalfest VI promises to be much more of an experience than just a day filled with great music.

Special ticketing packages and general admission tickets are available exclusively through Sound Check Hollywood.

The lineup also features Asking Alexandria, As I Lay Dying, Black Veil Brides, Pierce The Veil, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Chiodos w/Craig Owens, For Today, Suicide Silence, Memphis May Fire, Blessthefall, Unearth, Bleeding Through, The Faceless, Born Of Osiris, Winds Of Plague, Shadows Fall, Veil of Maya, Acacia Strain, Attila, Sleeping Giant, Upon A Burning Body among a slew of others.

Chimaira and Unearth to Headline Jägermeister Presents Tour

This fall’s Jägermeister Presents Tour is set to feature the headlining tandem of Chimaira (pictured left) and Unearth. The tour gets underway on October 10, headlined by Chimaira, while Unearth join as co-headliners on November 16. Both bands are playing behind new albums; Chimaira’s The Age of Hell and Unearth’s Darkness in the Light. Also on the tour will be Skeletonwitch and Molotov Solution.

“We are extremely excited to hit the road with our old friends in Unearth,” Chimaira vocalist Mark Hunter said in a statement. “Crazy to think that our bands have been playing shows for over 10 years but never headlined together in the states. A lot of fans have been waiting for this line-up and now the wait is over. This is going to be a blast! Our friends at Jägermeister will be supplying the fun, we’ll be blasting the tunes, and you guys bring the ruckus! I guarantee you don’t want to miss this!”

Unearth Unveil Album Art, Release Date for ‘Darkness in the Light’

Massachusetts metalcore band Unearth have announced a July 4 release date for their new album, Darkness in the Light. The album, which was recorded at Zing Studios in Westfield, Massachusetts, was produced by Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz. Darkness in the Light, which is the follow-up to 2008′s The March, will be released via Metal Blade Records.
