Photos: The 2012 Revolver Golden Gods Awards, Presented by Epiphone, Press Conference

On February 15, we at Revolver magazine held a press conference to announce the 2012 Golden Gods Awards, presented by Epiphone! In attendance were some legendary artists and athletes, including Alice Cooper, Korn’s Munky, Black Label Society’s Zakk Wylde, Hellyeah’s Vinnie Paul, Sixx:A.M.’s James Michael, Kill Devil Hill and Heaven and Hell’s Vinny Appice, Black Veil Brides’ Andy Biersack and Ashley Purdy, Adrenaline Mob’s Mike Portnoy and John Moyer (the latter is also of Disturbed fame), Steel Panther’s Michael Starr, Wendy Dio (wife of Ronnie James Dio), and pro motocross rider Brian Deegan of Metal Mulisha. Some of the artists even presented items to the GRAMMY Museum’s Bob Santelli and Andie Cox for its new exhibit, Golden Gods: The History of Heavy Metal, which opens the same day as the Revolver Golden Gods. Photos: The Ronnie James Dio Awards Gala at the Playboy Mansion

The Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund held its first annual Awards Gala on November 1. The event will took place at the Playboy Mansion, and Dio’s former bandmate Geezer Butler, as well as Rita Haney, long-time girlfriend of the late Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell, were honored. The event also included a silent auction, hosted by That Metal Show cohost and radio personality Eddie Trunk, as well as a performance by Asia, featuring John Payne.
