Jimmy brought a stylistic flare to his performance which helped take the band to a very high level at such a young age. I had the honor of touring with him and found the Rev to be a very warm and caring individual and one hell of a drummer. His music and fans were the most important things to him and no matter how big he became, he never lost track. We will miss Jimmy and all of his crazy antics. Most of all, we are all richer for knowing him. Rest in Peace.”

Like you, we here at Revolver are still mourning the loss of Avenged Sevenfold drummer Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan. That’s why we included a poster of him and an obituary in the March/April issue, on stands now. Many of the Rev’s peers wanted to weigh in, too. So over the coming days, we’ll post remembrances by the Rev’s friends, people he looked up to and artists who looked up to him. Here, Buckcherry drummer Xavier Muriel shares his thoughts.

“The music world lost a great person and musician with the passing of Jimmy ‘The Rev’ Sullivan. Jimmy brought a stylistic flare to his performance which helped take the band to a very high level at such a young age. I had the honor of touring with him and found Rev to be a very warm and caring individual and one hell of a drummer. His music and fans were the most important things to him and no matter how big he became, he never lost track. We will miss Jimmy and all of his crazy antics. Most of all, we are all richer for knowing him. Rest in Peace.”
