A variety of Dio tributes have been paid from all around the metal community, and Canadian metal band 3 Inches of Blood decided to pay homage by releasing a special lyric video for their song “Look Out,” off their latest album, Long Live Heavy Metal.

The track was written as a tribute to Dio and, according to vocalist Cam Pipes, wasn’t an easy song to write.

“It was hard to find the right words for a song honoring Ronnie James Dio, but I hope it is regarded as a fitting tribute to a legendary figure,” he said. “His impact on the metal community will last forever, and though he may have been small in stature, his contribution to the music scene is larger than most will ever achieve.”

Long Live Heavy Metal is out now on Century Media.

Last night, Jack Black and Kyle Gass to the stage on the Late Show with David Letter to perform their song, “Roadie,” off the new Tenacious D album, Rize of the Fenix. Watch the performance below.

Frontman Jack Black made some waves in an interview with Rolling Stone in which he claimed that Nirvana were the “last big rock band.”

“When you think about rock at its origin,” he he said, “and you think of The Beatles and millions of kids screaming as loud as they can and running as fast as they can toward The Beatles, there’s no one who is that kind of lightning rod, who commands that kind of power and has that kind of creative magma.”

He continued, “I contend that the last band to really have that kind of power, I’m gonna say, was Nirvana. Who since Nirvana has been as big as Nirvana, in that way?”

Tenacious D, who recently attended the 4th Annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards to present the Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award to Rush, are also featured in the latest issue of Revolver, on newsstands everywhere today and online here.

Rize of the Fenix is out now. You can still stream the album in full here.
