Exclusive Video: In This Moment Premiere “The Gun Show”
Check out the brand-new video, “The Gun Show,” by In This Moment. It’s the first track of their new album, A Star-Crossed Wasteland (Century Media). Guitarist Chris Howorth fills us in on the song.
REVOLVER How did you come up with the concept for this video?
CHRIS HOWORTH Well, from the very start of this song, Maria was singing about cowboys and guns and parties, so the video concept came naturally. Maria, as usual, came up with the concept for the video itself and her and Dave Brodsky worked out all the shots we would be using, We shot at a ranch up in the hills and it had a really dusty Western feel, the whole thing has a bit of aThe Devils Rejects vibe.
How does it fit into the themes of A Star-Crossed Wasteland?
The overall theme of A Star-Crossed wasteland takes place in a post-apocalyptic wasteland that is reminiscent of the Wild West...so this song fits perfectly. It’s all about a showdown and a party.
You had fans come in full cowboy regalia. Who’s the Western fan in the band? How did this idea come up?
Having the fans dress up was all Maria's idea. We’ve never been a cowboy- or southern-type band, but this song just calls for it. Maria and I both love the Wild West and cowboys and Indians, it was really cool and fun to bring that element into one of our songs.
What kind of feedback have you gotten about the video so far?
Everyone seems to be chomping at the bit for this video to come out, the fans are really excited and so is the band, we all cant wait. It’s gonna be killer!

This video rules. Love how heavy this song is. The last album sucked. And Maria looks so fucking hot in this video. The cowgirl outfit suits her better than all those little girl fairytale dresses.

I love this song! But I thought the video was a little . . . . . I don’t know- maybe I just had high expectations. It was kinda bleak. But the song is great! And ITM is my favorte band.

I THINK THAT THIS SONG IS BETTER, A RETURN TO WHAT THEY DID ON BEAUTIFUL TRAGEDY. THE DREAM IS A GOOD ALBUM, ALTHOUGH WITH A DIFFERENT VIBE ALL THROUGH OUT.

Its just one huge breakdown with some pantera riffs after each section. Thats why it rules. I hope they open at Mayhem with this its such a party song as well as an excellent intro. It screams “Hey Motherf*ckers We Are [In This Moment] time to rage!”

The video is soooo cheap… Honestly the song sounds like a Zombie/Manson rip off.
