A little over two years ago, before his untimely death in 2015, Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister stepped into the shoes of a smooth-talking, booze-guzzling vampire for Phoebe Dollar's horror movie Sunset Society. Now, with the film's spring 2018 release drawing ever closer, the time's finally come to witness the late legend in all his blood-sucking glory. Lemmy's character makes several appearances in Finnish goth-rocker Jyrki 69's new "Bloodlust" video, which pays homage to the upcoming film. Behold!

Directed by Vicente and Fernando Codero, "Bloodlust," which appears on Jyrki 69's forthcoming solo LP Helsinki Vampire, relocates the Sunset Society cast to a gaudy nightclub, where they drink, dance and — because this is a horror movie — carry out occult rituals. Lemmy spends most of the video watching the debauchery from afar, occasionally cutting off the extended sulk session to sink his fangs into a beautiful woman's neck. "Aren't we all so glad to see that Lemmy's doing all right?" Jyrki 69 mused in a statement to Rolling Stone. "He lives forever!"

Lemmy's appearance in Sunset Society — the cast of which also features Guns N' Roses keyboardist Dizzy Reed, L.A. Guns guitarist Tracii Guns and porn icon Ron Jeremy, among others — isn't the only posthumous content in the pipeline. Back in March, Skew Siskin guitarist and longtime Lemmy collaborator Jim Voxx announced that he'd be taking up the reins on the departed idol's long-awaited solo album, which he hopes to release by the end of the year. "We have 10 songs, and we thought it would have been released a long time ago", Siskin said in an interview with MetalTalk.net. "But when Lemmy got ill, we stopped working on it — but the recordings were all done."

Ice-T's metal band Body Count returned with a new album, Bloodlust, this spring. As the rap star, actor and director hinted to Revolver last fall, the record possesses a mean murder streak. "Murder is about as normal as love … It's in our nature to want to get violent and kill, but we know there are consequences," he said. "That's why we like violent movies, video games and combat sports. It's in our DNA. It's what we are."

Keeping Ice's primal mission in mind, Body Count's gory new music video for Bloodlust single "Here I Go Again" — a creepy journey into the mind of a serial killer — hardly registers as a surprise. The NSFW visual follows Ice-T's character, a brooding, blood-spattered loner, as he slowly descends into madness. After killing an elderly woman and writhing around in bed with a whole in his chest, our anti-hero finally turns on himself, bringing the video to an appropriately violent conclusion. Watch it below.

Released back in March, Bloodlust marks Body Count's most star-studded album to date, with guest appearances from Soulfly's Max Cavalera, Megadeth's Dave Mustaine and Lamb of God's Randy Blythe. The record also includes a tribute to Slayer, in the form of a medley of their classic songs "Postmortem" and "Raining Blood." Ice-T and company have yet to announce a tour behind the record. Their only upcoming date as of late is a June 15th appearance at the Chicago Open Air festival.

Hatebreed have shared a video for "New Enemies," off last month's The Concrete Confessional LP. The performance clip finds the hardcore mainstays in their natural element, storming stages and stirring up chaos in graffiti-filled back alleys. Frontman Jamey Jasta, imposing as ever, takes several opportunities to sneer and shout through the lens — he's talking to you, punk! Check it out below.

Additionally, the group have curated a Spotify playlist of their favorite metal and hardcore songs for Playstation Music. Dying Fetus, Terror, Arch Enemy and Madball are but a few of the artists who made the cut (or rather, cuts — 22 of them, to be precise). Listen to it here.

Hatebreed's new clip arrives the same day as their Warped Tour kick-off performance in Albequerque, New Mexico. Their stint with the festival runs through August 8th. They'll head to Europe a few days later for shows in the Czech Republic, Belgium, England, the Netherlands and Germany. A full list of dates is available on Hatebreed's website.

Back in May, Jasta described "Seven Enemies" as a reflection on the Seven Deadly Sins, and their starring role in the story of man's downfall. "A lot of people gravitate towards their vices and sins and it dooms them," Jasta says. "They lead to destructive lifestyle patterns, and then that starts affecting the people around them."

chris cornell

Shortly before his untimely death last month, Chris Cornell shot a music video for "The Promise": his musical contribution to Terry George's 2016 drama of the same name, which follows refugees from the Armenian Genocide through their love and loss. Today, that clip–which marks the Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman's final music video–has been released. Directed by Meiert Avis and Stefan Smith, the clip depicts a lone Cornell reverently performing the acoustic-based song in a dark room, interspersed with a blend of old photographs and footage of present-day refugees in Syria, Libya, and elsewhere. Per the late legend's wishes, "The Promise" arrives in honor of World Refugee Day (June 20). Proceeds from the song will benefit the Chris & Vicky Cornell Foundation, a non-profit benefitting vulnerable children worldwide.

"Although it is bittersweet because Chris filmed his performance in Brooklyn, New York, shortly before his passing, he wanted his video to be released on World Refugee Day, and he was passionate about helping people through this project," commented "The Promise" producer Eric Esrailian in a press statement. "True to Chris's charitable spirit, he made a commitment to donate all of his proceeds from 'The Promise' to support refugees and children, and to further the conversation about the refugee crisis the world continues to endure."

Speaking with Rolling Stone back in March, Cornell detailed the emotional process that led to "The Promise":

For me, with this one ["The Promise"], I was asking, 'How close to it am I and how far away from it am I?' I married into a Greek family, and my wife's grandparents were affected by the same genocide at the same time, since it was part of the same Ottoman Empire policy. So I saw the nearness to it. And one of the producers is a good friend of mine, and he's Armenian and we talked about it for a long time. It affected his generation and you can see it echoing through the generations. ... I think we all have a responsibility to recognize the warning signs that lead to this.

This movie's a great opportunity to tell a story that needs to be told, to help engage the healing of something that happened at a specific time and place, but it also remind us that it's happening now and reminds us what to look for. You can see it now in Syria, where you have one regime that is trying to deny any [killing] is happening and you have ISIS on the other side, who is targeting a different group and advertising it.

ChinoMoreno_2.jpg

Deftones frontman Chino Moreno turns 44 today, June 20. For nearly three decades, he's been the face, voice and driving force behind the Sacramento alternative metal luminaries. Moreno's contrast-heavy, arresting vocal style, coupled with his lyrical penchant for all things sinister and sensual, catalyzed not only Deftones' rise to fame, but the mainstream's affinity towards nü-metal writ large. And of course, we can't forget his well-established reputation as a sex symbol. (Alas, he's taken.)

In honor of Moreno's birthday, we're taking a trip down Deftones memory lane to revisit one of the vocalist's best onstage moments. Filmed during the Deftones' set at the 1998 Bizarre Festival in Cologne, Germany, Moreno's performances of tracks like "My Own Summer (Shove It)", "Around the Fur" and "Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)", are textbook examples of what makes Moreno such a powerful bandleader: his whirling dervish stage presence, halfway between a rock singer and a caged animal; his unparalleled stamina, which allows him to skip, scowl and sing without missing a beat; his affable aura, keeping the rapt crowd in his clutches. Relive the magic below.

Late last year, Manuel Gagneux released Devil Is Fine, his debut album as Zeal & Ardor. Though the project was originally conceived as a solo endeavor, its live setup necessitated a metamorphosis. Accordingly, when it came time to plot tours and live sessions, Gagneux assembled a six-person band to deliver the total sonic chaos of his vision.

Zeal & Ardor's tempestuous chemistry is on full display in the group's new live video for "Blood In The River", the standout Devil Is Fine track that Gagneux says is "partially about the Stono Rebellion, and partially about self-liberation from religion". Filmed at Off the Road Studios in Leipzig, Germany, Zeal & Ardor's performance jacks up the studio version's latent fury, transforming an already imposing barnstormer into a Category 5 hurricane. Watch it below (the performance begins at the 1:35 mark).

Gagneux and company's European tour behind Devil Is Fine continues today with a stop-off in Luxembourg. In August, they'll head for a handful of North American shows. Speaking with Revolver about what to expect from the sets, the frontman revealed that the group have prepared nine new songs, including material that, in his view, is "kinda better" than Devil Is Fine's offerings. "I couldn't stand behind a 25-minute set or playing some half-ass covers," he said. "The only fair thing is to deliver something that we feel is good."

Integrity have shared the official music video for the song "Hymn for the Children of the Black Flame," which is taken from their forthcoming 12th studio album, Howling, for the Nightmare Shall Consume. Check it out below.

Directed by Jimmy Hubbard (Mastodon, Baroness, The Obsessed), the black and white clip draws inspiration from vintage horror films, depicting a haunting ghoul who rises from her grave and stalks her unsuspecting human prey.

Vocalist Dwid Hellion said, "The horrifically stunning aesthetic of director, Jimmy Hubbard has taken us deep into the realm of forbidden nightmare and religious inversion. Hubbard has breathed a new hell into our song, 'Hymn for the Children of the Black Flame.'"

Howling, for the Nightmare Shall Consume, will be released on July 14th via Relapse Records. Mastered by Brad Boatright (Obituary, Toxic Holocaust), the album was mixed and recorded at Developing Nations Studio in Baltimore, Maryland and features cover art by Hellion. The record can be pre-ordered digitally here while physical versions are available at this location.

Over the last three decades, industrial-music icon Raymond Watts has played with KMFDM (including singing on their biggest hit "Juke Joint Jezebel"), toured with Nine Inch Nails and collaborated with fashion designer Alexander McQueen, and for most of that time, he's also kept his own project Pig alive and squealing with a litany of releases and tours. Today, Pig have dropped the latest entry in their discography, a new EP Prey & Obey — the follow-up to last year's The Gospel full-length — as well as the music video for its title track, which sees Watts reuniting with sometime partners in crime Marc Heal and Phil Barry of Cubanate.

"After the pure and pious exaltations of The Gospel, Prey & Obey is a return to the gristle and grime that is the staple diet of Pig," Watts comments. "More pork and less talk."

Prey & Obey can be purchased right here via Metropolis Records; Pig will hit the road on a North American tour later this month.

Dallas-based metalcore quartet Fit for a King have premiered the official music video for the title track from their latest album, Deathgrip. Check out the clip below.

Directed by Kevin Johnson, the video was shot in stunningly scenic locations in Glen Rose, Texas and Flagstaff, Arizona.

"This song is one of the only true 'fiction' songs we've written," said vocalist Ryan Kirby. "It's about a person witnessing the end of the world, and their description of the event and how they're dealing with it.

"Working with Kevin again was a no brainer. We had such an incredible time doing the 'Dead Memory' video with him, and he is so creative with his editing and shots."

Fit for a King will be performing on 2017's Vans Warped Tour, which kicks off tomorrow, June 16th in Seattle, Washington at CenturyLink Field and will conclude on Sunday, August 6th in Pomona, California at Fairplex Pomona.

Stone Sour - Main Pub 2017 - Travis Shinn_4.jpg, Travis Shinn

Stone Sour have shared the live studio video for "Mercy," the latest single from their forthcoming sixth studio album, Hydrograd. Check out the video below.

The clip was filmed at Sphere Studios in North Hollywood, California, where the band recorded Hydrograd with producer Jay Ruston (Anthrax, Killswitch Engage, Steel Panther).

Hydrograd is the first of original Stone Sour material to feature guitarist Christian Martucci and bassist Johny Chow, both of whom came aboard after the release of the band's double album, House of Gold & Bones. Speaking about their contributions during a recent interview with Revolver, frontman Corey Taylor said, "Those guys are just two of the most down-to-earth, positive guys you could ever imagine. Their whole thing in life is just fucking playing music and having fun and getting in front of an audience and kicking the shit out of them. To me, that's what being in a band is all about. I feel like people forget that sometimes and forget why they enjoy what they do and why they do it in the first place. And these guys are just a constant reminder of that. And like I said man, we had so much fun in the studio. We were all there early every day, we left late every day. I mean we were fucking bummed when we had to move out because we had so much fun. We were even there when we didn't have to be just to be there for everybody's parts to encourage them. We just got to be dorks together."

Hydrograd will be released on June 30 via Roadrunner Records. The album can be pre-ordered in various formats at this location.
