Sweden's THE HAUNTED will finally release their long-overdue live Road Kill DVD/CD in North America on June 8th through Century Media Records. The DVD features an in-depth, very unique "on the road" movie documentary, an intense recording of the band's current live set (captured in Amsterdam's Melkweg on February 13th, 2009) and the band's recent promotional video clips as bonus. The CD contains the full live show mixed and mastered by long-term band-producer Tue Madsen (Sick Of It All, Dark Tranquillity, Heaven Shall Burn) as well as five rare/unreleased studio bonus songs from the Versus album recording session.

Fans can stream the live version of "Little Cage" from the Dutch concert at the band's MySpace page. A trailer for Road Kill can be viewed at this location.

Guitarist Anders Björler comments: "Well, this week started off nicely with the release of the Road Kill DVD/CD, as well as rehearsing new material for the upcoming album. The recordings will commence this fall, so expect something fresh for early 2011. In the meantime we are very much looking forward to the dates with Slayer this summer, as well as festival gigs. Check out 'Little Cage' from the Amsterdam live gig. Enjoy!"

Swedish thrash metal supergroup WITCHERY have completed work on their long-awaited new album, Witchkrieg, and is set for a June 29th North American release via Century Media Records. Witchkrieg features the debut of new vocalist Legion (ex-Marduk, ex-Devian) and an army of the best metal guitarists. The fretboard wizardry of Kerry King (Slayer) crowns title track. Other guests include Hank Sherman (Mercyful Fate, Force of Evil), Andy La Rocque (King Diamond) and Dark Angel's Jim Durkin.

The new track "The Reaver" can be heard now at the band's MySpace and features Gary Holt and Lee Altus of legendary Bay Area thrashers Exodus. Comments Gary: "While in Europe touring for The Atrocity Exhibition our good friends in Witchery (as well as a couple of other bands you may have heard of!) kidnapped Lee and I for a little guitar solo madness, which we were more than happy to provide! We had a blast, shredded some solos, went to our gig and proceeded to get wrecked, which included a bit of artistic sharpie work on the engineer! Good times!"

WITCHERY's line-up reads like the who's who of Swedish Metal: Jensen (guitars) plays with The Haunted; solo-guitarist Rickard Rimfält for Séance; bass player Sharlee D'Angelo is in charge of the deep end of Arch Enemy and Spiritual Beggars; while drummer Martin Axe hits the skins of Opeth and Bloodbath. For more information on WITCHERY, head over to their official MySpace.

MEGADETH and SLAYER, who last toured the U.S. together 19 years ago on the Clash of the Titans tour, have confirmed that they will each perform, from start to finish, their 1990 releases Rust in Peace and Seasons in the Abyss (respectively) on the upcoming Canadian and American Carnage Tours. The six-date Canadian Carnage kicks off July 23 in Quebec City while the 19-city American Carnage dates begin August 11 in Glens Falls, NY. With Slayer and Megadeth co-headlining, TESTAMENT will be Special Guest on all dates.

Tickets purchased for the Canadian and Carnage Carnage shows when they first went on sale late last year will be honored for the rescheduled dates. Complete information regarding ticket sales can be found at www.slayer.net, www.megadeth.com and www.testamentlegions.com.

The American Carnage Tour, originally scheduled to take place in January and February, had to be postponed due to SLAYER vocalist/bassist Tom Araya's treatment for severe back pain: an occupational hazard for the rocker who is known for aggressively swinging his long mane of hair while performing. A surgical procedure in January corrected the problem once and for all, in which he felt better almost immediately.

Comments Araya: "Right after the surgery, I could tell that the issue was fixed. There's no more pain, it just feels really good. I'm really excited and I'm anxious to get together with the rest of the guys and start rehearsing again. We canceled two tours, and I don't feel great about that, but I couldn't deal with the pain anymore, and that's now completely gone. I know the fans are excited to see the band - the tour is on, we're keeping our word, there will be no more cancellations."

Stereogum has the premiere of "No Funeral," taken from the band's forthcoming album, Addicts: Black Meddle PT. II, which is due out on June 8th through Century Media. Check out it out at this location.

On the band's current situation, NACHTMYSTIUM mastermind Blake Judd checks in: "NACHTMYSTIUM have just completed our first full-European / UK headlining tour. The tour was amazing and we reached crowds everywhere in the UK, Scandinavia, the Baltic states and western Europe. We'd like to thank all of our friends and fans who came out in support of our conquest across this continent.

"After seven weeks of non-stop touring here in Europe (and 2 1/2 weeks prior to leaving for Europe in the United States with Kreator and Voivod), we are now stranded in the London-area of the United Kingdom, awaiting any word on when flights will resume in the wake of the volcanic eruption in Iceland. While we are here, we are looking to pick up any gigs/show opportunities to help keep the group of us afloat while we're stranded here in the coming week or so. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The band can be reached directly via MySpace or our booking agent. Please email tony@firstcontactagency.com and message us on MySpace if you can help.

"Thanks again to everyone who helped out with the European tour, and a massive cheers and thank you to the organizers of the amazing Roadburn and Inferno festivals in Holland and Norway. We had an amazing time and show at both events."

It's going to be a straight up East Van production once again directed by our friend Rick Podd who directed our barbaric 'Battles and Brotherhood' video. This time, it's going to be about us getting killed by an assassin methodically throughout one fine Vancouver evening. I personally am excited because we have one of the industry's finest FX artists around helping us add a nice element of gore and guts which will get your blood boiling. Not to mention babes doin' the killin.' All is going great so we will have it ready just in time for Rockstar Mayhem Fest, which we are super stoked as all Hell for. Lots of great bands and a whole lotta BBQs and partying. Can't wait for this summer because we will be once again be bringing our brand of kick ass metal to the masses. See you there and lets rage!"
