California-based alt-industrial rock outfit Death Valley High will release its new album, 'CVLT [AS FVK],' on November 4 via Minus Head Records. In anticipation, the band has teamed up with Revolver to premiere its new song, "Groei Donker (Grow Dark)." Check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments!

Vocalist Reyka Osburn said, "Sometimes a working title sinks its nails in and rides all the way to the bitter end. In Afrikaans, GROEI DONKER means GROW DARK, and after all, we decided to keep both titles. The whole backbone of the song can be translated two ways. Initially, the song was based on tribal drums that frankensteined into a more modern hybrid; also, a pulsating bassline that grinded out a path for a more hardcore riff.

"The attitude of the song is about 'finding' oneself in the darkness; not about 'losing it.' It's not a 'Falling Down' statement. It's not about abandoning the light. It's about finding strength in the shadows... it's about finding opportunities in the night time. It's about going to the Upside Down and conquering it!"

There seems to be no holiday that metalheads love more than Halloween. The holiday's macabre elements of ghouls, gore and horror parallel the themes and imagery that are also found in metal. We've compiled a list of 10 metal songs for your ultimate Halloween playlist so that you and your guests can headbang into the night!

1. Type O Negative, "All Hallows Eve"

It goes without saying that Peter Steele is the king of Halloween. While there are plenty of Type O Negative tracks that would fit into any Halloween playlist, this doomy track is the perfect tune for your party guests to "sing macabre songs" and "dance 'til dawn."

2. Marilyn Manson, "This Is Halloween"

Manson is known for turning already spooky songs into even spookier covers. While Danny Elfman's "This is Halloween," which appears in Tim Burton's cult classic 'The Nightmare Before Christmas,' has a playful vibe, Manson transformed this song into a dark, heavy bruiser that is sure to give listeners nightmares of their own.

3. Iced Earth, "Damien"

Iced Earth's 'Horror Show' is the ultimate Halloween collection. With songs that pay homage to classic literary and film horror icons such as Frankenstein and Dracula, this concept album is filled with fright from cover to cover. However, "Damien," remains one of the band's most celebrated songs. Opening with ominous, baroque-style chants, the 'Omen' inspired track is as heavy as it is haunting.

4. Black Sabbath, "Black Sabbath"

Perhaps one of the first ever doom metal tracks ever written, the opening track on Black Sabbath's debut album promises terror from the start with sounds of church bells and thunder. Lyrics of coming face-to-face with Satan layered over sludgy riffs demonstrate why Sabbath were so widely feared when they first came about.

5. Iron Maiden, "Moonchild"

Inspired by the Aleister Crowley novel of the same name, this song is even more diabolical than "Number of the Beast." Crowley's occult influence is rampant as Dickinson's lyrics also reference text found in Liber Samekh incantations, a Satanic ritual penned by the author.

6. King Diamond, "Halloween"

King Diamond is no stranger to writing horror-filled songs and albums, but there is none that blatantly homages the holiday as much as "Halloween." Although, if you really want to haunt your party-goers with tales of possession and ghouls, spinning 'Abigail' cover to cover will also do the trick!

7. Slayer, "Black Magic"

Satan, spells and evil curses are centric to the theme of Slayer's classic thrash hit, "Black Magic." The wickedness of the song's lyrics is rivaled only by the shredding riffage and brutal drum fills.

8. Ghost, "Ghuleh/Zombie Queen"

Ghost is another band with a catalog that is tailor-made for Halloween. "Ghuleh/Zombie Queen" is a romantic tune about the putrefied corpse of a dead woman rising from the grave, only to claim the title of "Zombie Queen." This is perfect to slow dance with your macabre, significant other to.

9. Metallica, "The Call of Ktulu"

While this is an instrumental track, the title is derived from "The Call of Cthulhu," a horror story written by iconic horror writer, H.P. Lovecraft. In the tale, the narrator tries to make sense of letters he discovered from his granduncle which tell of a sea beast that resembles, "an octopus, a dragon, and a human caricature."

10. Megadeth, "The Conjuring"

This 'Peace Sells' hit song is so diabolical, that Dave Mustaine won't play it at shows. In an interview with U.K.'s Total Guitar magazine, the frontman revealed that there are actual instructions for curses and hexes in the song. It isn't a Halloween party until someone accidentally gets hexed!

Zao will release its new album (and their first full-length release since 2009's 'Awake?'), 'The Well-Intentioned Virus,' on December 9 via Observed/Observer Recordings. In anticipation, the band has teamed up with Revolver to premiere its new track, "Observed/Observer." Check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments!

Singer Dan Weyandt said, "It is about our personal role in the material universe. We are the culmination of all that exists observing and experiencing itself, while at the same time our behaviors and actions are being observed and experienced. Oneness and nothingness existing at the same time."

Drummer/label manager Jeff Gretz added, "This is probably the first time the band has made a record where there was no 'end-game.' We just kept building up songs until we had a batch that we felt worked together as an album. Nobody was watching us or pushing a deadline. By the time we got to that point, we realized the hard part of funding and making the actual recording was already done. It just made sense to put it out ourselves. The whole thing could implode at any minute, but that seems to be the way the band does it's best work, hanging on for dear life."
