Red Fang have debuted "The Deep," the latest single from forthcoming release, 'Only Ghosts,' which will be released October 14 via Relapse Records.

"I would like to introduce you to a song called 'The Deep,' from our new record, 'Only Ghosts.'" Frontman Aaron Beam told Kerrang! "It's about some heavy shit in my life, but I am glad to be able to share it with you. Maybe you can pull something out of it that you identify with. Maybe not. Maybe you will think this song sucks. That's all fine! I feel that we did the subject justice and I am very proud of it. I especially like Bryan's screams on the choruses and the lonely, plaintive guitar that David ad-libbed at the end."

After an Alter Bridge fan was shot during an incident on September 25 in an area near the University of Illinois, the band reached out to the fan to bring him some positivity after the ordeal.

Erik Lasaine and several of his friends happened to find themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time. While passing by a fight that had broken out, Lasaine, his friend George Korchev and two bystanders were struck with stray bullets when gunfire broke out. With the bullet just missing his spine, Lasaine had suffered non-fatal injuries, however, Korchev died.

When Lasaine eulogized his friend just two days after the shooting, he recited lyrics from Alter Bridge's "Blackbird" to honor his friend's memory. The band was so moved by this gesture that they offered to fly Lasaine out to see the band perform on October 7 in Dallas, T.X.

Not only did Lasaine and Korchev's girlfriend get to see the band's performance, but they were also treated to a VIP meet-and-greet at the band's soundcheck and even got to hang with the band after the show. Alter Bridge dedicated "Blackbird" to Korchev's memory as well. The song, which appears on the album of the same name, can be heard below.

Speaking with Billboard, Lasaine commented "It totally blew my mind. I was surprised … It was definitely really cool."

Alter Bridge's latest album, 'The Last Hero,' is out now via Caroline Records.

Carlile suffers from Marfan Syndrome, a rare genetic condition that affects the body's connective tissue, causing weakness in the heart, joints and muscles and results in chronic pain.

The following article is from Revolver's October/November 2016 issue. It is on newsstands now and available for purchase in our webstore.

"There might be an idea someone has of what All That Remains is supposed to sound like, but we always try to challenge that idea," says frontman Phil Labonte. And indeed, over the course of its almost 20-year career, the Massachusetts-based metalcore heavyweights have slowly incorporated a greater use of everything from clean vocals to melodic hooks to power-ballad arrangements into their music, earning plenty of new fans—and a few detractors—in the process. So when the singer tells Revolver that the band's in-the-works new studio album, its eighth overall, is "probably our most challenging record yet," that's saying something.

According to Labonte, the changes this time around happened right from the start of the writing process. "We wanted to mix it up a little bit and write from a vocal perspective this time," he says. "So I went to L.A. and came up with vocal ideas and melodies and then sent those chord progressions back to Oli [Herbert, guitarist] and he wrote riffs in response to that." Writing in that manner, he continues, "turned the record into a vocal album as opposed to a guitar album. And that affected some things. Like, there might be less intricacy in the riffs because they were written in response to my voice."

Furthermore, Labonte also reveals that the majority of the new songs feature "significant programming and electronic sounds. And that's something we wanted to have flowing through the entire record. So you're gonna hear that kind of influence on most of the tracks."

Labonte also reports that among the new batch of songs, there are two that are similar in style to All That Remains' 2012 ballad "What If I Was Nothing," and another that is "really going to challenge people." But not everything will be a break from the norm: When it comes to subject matter on the new songs, he laughs. "Well, most people that are familiar with me know that I'm pretty political… and it is an election year." As for how that fact influenced the album? "When politics affects you negatively, you're usually pretty angry," Labonte says. "So, it's a metal record."

Food on the road for touring bands can be an utter disaster. Well, unless you have total foodie chef in the band. Such is the case for Trivium with their frontman and guitarist Matt Heafy. So, as the metal group continues its trek across the U.S., we asked the vocalist for 3 Easy (and Awesome) Road Meals... and you can make 'em at home, too.

I love to cook. However, the bus does not have really anything outside of a microwave or a toaster; so I don't really go above and beyond while being out. Home is where I hit it hard in the kitchen. With that said, there are a few road meals I will resort to if there's nothing local and good around.

1. Matt's "Bus Nachos"
Triscuits are a must on our daily rider. I love that they have I think three ingredients total, versus the 20 in chips. Start with a base layer of Triscuits, then layer what ever good extra rider stuff you may have: alternate layers of different pulled apart cheeses, shredded lunch meat, pickled jalapeños, then being layering again. The final layer should be cheese, then Frank's hot sauce or sriracha; microwave it to finish.

2. Triscuit desert canapés
On each singular Triscuit, place one slice banana, one Ghiradeli dark chocolate morsel in the center and drizzle honey.

3. Seeds of change brown rice and quinoa packet, microwaved (sigh), topped with (preferably organic) canned chicken or tuna
The canned chicken or tuna is mixed in a red solo cup with Bragg's apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, srirachia, and fage plain Greek yogurt. I don't measure the ratios, but just like when cooking at home—tasting is key. You want enough yogurt to make the protein end up in a consistency like a normal chicken salad; the vinegar, soy, and sriracha are all to taste; watch it that you don't add too much liquid and thin out the yogurt.
