Going back to school stinks, no doubt. But here's something that may soften the crushing end of summer vaca just a little: yearbook photos of your favorite rockers, including members of Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica, Slipknot, Linkin Park, Pantera, Deftones, System of a Down, Lamb of God, and many, many more. Turns out our hard-rock and metal heroes were big dorks just like the rest of us.
Avenged Sevenfold headlined this summer's Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, bringing with them tons of pyrotechnics and a massive skeleton king. Pop stars love metal shirts. Whether they actually love metal bands or not, that's a whole other question. But they sure do love the shirts. From Miley Cyrus to Hilary Duff, every pop star worth her salt has hit the town or the stage rocking a Metallica, Iron Maiden, or in the case of Rihanna recently, Krokus tee. Yeah, it pissed us off—but we'd be lying if we didn't admit that it also turns us on a little. Like, maybe, just maybe there's a chance that one of these chicks actually digs heavy music (for that matter, we know that Demi Lovato and Kelly Clarkson do, or at least did).
