In Revolver's new Dec/Jan 2019 issue — which is on newsstands now and available via our webstore — we explore the theme of "Dreams and Nightmares" with the help of King Diamond, Myrkur, Alex Grey, Robert Englund, City Morgue, Venom Prison and others. Since the topic proved particularly compelling and revealing, we've asked some more of our favorite artists about their dreams and nightmares — including the Black Queen's Greg Puciato. The former Dillinger Escape Plan vocalist revealed the pop-culture icons that haunt his subconscious, explained how he draws inspiration from "liminal space" and shared why Prince would be a dream musician to collaborate with.

DESCRIBE THE MOST RECENT DREAM YOU HAD.
Last night I dreamt that I saw LL Cool J hooking up with Kim Kardashian in a restaurant and then later I was with Kanye and didn't know how to tell him 'cause he already seemed crazy.

WHAT GIVES YOU NIGHTMARES?
The fact that any of those people, much less all of them, were somewhere in my subconscious … that is the nightmare. I believe that answers the first two questions.

DO YOU HAVE ANY RECURRING DREAMS OR NIGHTMARES?
Thankfully, it is not recurring.

HAVE ANY OF YOUR DREAMS OR NIGHTMARES COME TRUE?
Yes, all of my dreams come true if I want them to — I'm a sorcerer.

DO YOU BELIEVE YOUR DREAMS HAVE MEANING? DO THEY HAVE A PURPOSE?
Yes, my dreams have a purpose — to entertain me, because otherwise, I'd be bored even while sleeping.

HAVE YOUR DREAMS EVER INSPIRED OR INFLUENCED YOUR MUSIC?
Yes, I've written lyrics and music because of dreams but mostly in the "liminal space" between sleeping and waking, where your dreaming brain can sorta superimpose on your waking brain, and you can grab some of those things and bring them back.

WHO WOULD BE YOUR DREAM MUSICIAN TO COLLABORATE WITH?
Prince. Because he would be the most adept/fluent of anyone I can think of, at being able to go pretty competently in any direction, and I wouldn't wanna be stuck doing a certain genre.

WHAT'S YOUR DREAM FOR 2019?
Well, most of my 2019 is mapped out already so I guess my dream is that dogs and cats can find a way to live in harmony.
