'DOOM' Composer Mick Gordon Seeking "Heavy-Metal Screamers" Choir for New Game

There's no composer in the video game world who knows how to create a heavy-metal score like Mick Gordon. Back in 2018, we talked to him about creating a true hell realm of a soundtrack for the DOOM reboot, an industrial-metal assault that stands on its own as a genuinely insane piece of music.

His work in heavy metal doesn't seem to be ending any time soon, and he announced he's turning to fans for help on his next project. In a new video titled "Join the Heavy Metal Choir," he talks about writing music for a new game and wanting to create a choir of harsh vocals for the soundtrack — made up of "heavy metal screamers" — something that hasn't been done before. It's insane to imagine what this will sound like, let alone what game he could be writing for (though it could very well be DOOM Eternal, slated to come out later this year). But if you have the chops, are over 18 and can travel to Austin, Texas, why not give it a shot?
