Evil has risen once again. This spring, the latest movie in the Evil Dead horror franchise, Evil Dead Rise, will be hitting theaters, and today (January 4th), Warner Bros. has unleashed its utterly terrifying first trailer.
In classic Evil Dead fashion, there's plenty of gore, wince-inducing violence, nightmarish special effects and hair-raising scares packed into the two-and-a-half minute preview. Watch above via YouTube.
Out April 21st, Evil Dead Rise will be the fifth installment in the horror franchise, following 2013's Evil Dead. This flick is directed by Lee Cronin (The Hole in the Ground) and stars Alyssa Sutherland, Lily Sullivan, Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies, Nell Fisher, and Mia Challis.
Here's the movie's official synopsis: "Moving the action out of the woods and into the city, Evil Dead Rise tells a twisted tale of two estranged sisters, played by Sutherland and Sullivan, whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable."
