The theme of this year's Met Gala, held last night (May 8th) at the world-famous New York City art museum, was "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination," and Rihanna lived out that concept by going full-on Pope. The pop star and fashion icon hit the red carpet wearing a pearl- and crystal-embellished Maison Margiela gown complete with matching jacket and mitre-style hat.
Tongue firmly in cheek, Swedish occult-rock band Ghost — famous for its papal frontmen Papa Emeritus I, II and III — noted the resemblance to its succession of singers and thanked Bad Girl Riri for the "imitation." The group's new frontman Cardinal Copia, who is not yet a Pope himself, also relayed a very important question to fans from "the clergy": Who wore it best? We'll let you decide.
