Ghost are having a serious moment right now. The Swedish occult-rock troupe's 2019 single "Mary on a Cross" went viral on TikTok — thanks to a Stranger Things-related video on the platform — and, with 6 million streams and over 1,000 downloads, recently landed at No. 90 on the Billboard Hot 100, the band's first entry on that chart.

Now comes word that Ghost frontman Papa Emeritus IV will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the White Sox vs. Cleveland Guardians game on Thursday, September 22nd. As incongruous as it might seem, the group's mastermind Tobias Forge's heroes in Metallica have been celebrating Metallica Night at Oracle Park with their hometown baseball team, the San Francisco Giants, for several years now, so just look at it as Ghost following in their heavy footsteps.
