Jack Black revealed that Tenacious D are "thinking about" making a sequel to the Pick of Destiny. The 2006 musical-comedy flick, starring Black and his Tenacious D bandmate Kyle Gass, is a cult classic in the stoner adventure canon, and fans have been clamoring for a follow-up for well over a decade.

In a new interview with SiriusXM, Black said that he and Gass are certainly considering making a proper sequel to the Pick of Destiny, and Black also said he's thinking about a follow-up to School of Rock, the 2003 flick that features one of his most beloved acting performances.

When Black and Gass were asked directly if either of those films would ever receive sequels, Black answered emphatically. "Yup. Both of them. Breaking news. We're thinking about doing both of those," Black said. "It's a hybrid — a school of D," Gass added jokingly.

Black didn't elaborate on a timeline or provide any more details about those potential sequels. Back in 2018, Tenacious D released, Tenacious D in Post-Apocalypto, an animated series of shorts uploaded to YouTube that accompanied the album they dropped the same year, Post-Apocalypto. The impending Pick of Destiny sequel would ostensibly be a live action follow-up to the original movie.
