With the first Tool album in over a decade on the way and a new wine bar recently opened near his vineyards in Arizona, Maynard James Keenan is hellbent on making 2019 his year. Next up for the renaissance man is a cameo on former Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar's Rock & Roll Road Trip series alongside another famed guest, chef Guy Fieri.
A promotional photo posted to AXS TV's official Facebook page shows the trio hanging casually in what appears to be a desert-like locale, looking somewhat like they're about to drop the hottest heavy-rock LP of 2019 — or maybe just taste and discuss wine. Hagar and Fieri are rocking very casual looks while Keenan, in his usual stylish way, is dressed sharply in a smart suit with a quizzical look on his face.
The episode, cleverly titled "Tool'n Around In Flavortown," will be the season's ninth and is set to air July 7th on AXS TV. Check out more details and see a teaser for the upcoming season on the show's official website; Willie Nelson and Charlie Daniels are also set to appear as guests.
