Last month, beloved metalhead miscreants Beavis and Butt-Head resurfaced with their new movie, Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe. Now, they're gearing up for the return of their TV series, which, like the film, is written, directed, and voiced by original creator Mike Judge, and will be housed on Paramount+.
Today (July 14th), the streaming service is treating us to the first trailer, and it looks like the show will be everything we could've hoped — a rekindling of the idiotic antics, potty-mouthed jokes and loony slapstick that made the original iteration of the series so special. Check out the minute-and-a-half-long preview above via YouTube.
In an interview earlier this year, Judge revealed that in addition to watching and commenting on music videos like they did in the initial incarnation of the show, this season will also feature the gruesome twosome reacting to YouTube and TikTok videos.
"That just sort of came up [regarding Beavis and Butt-Head reacting to YouTube and TikTok videos]," the creator said. "Like, there's just so much to watch. We were limited to [music videos] on MTV, but the world is cluttered with so much video now.
"Now, whatever the demographic that was watching music videos [in the Nineties] is probably watching this kind of TikTok stuff. And we all watch YouTube."
Today's trailer doesn't contain any TikTok reactions, but we'll surely see what that looks like when the show airs August 4th on Paramount+.
