New 'Jackass' TV Series Coming to Paramount+

Following the massive success of 'Jackass Forever'

The long-awaited arrival of this year's Jackass Forever was a grand cultural moment, a triumphant return of ball-busting, puke-spewing humor just when we needed it most. In fact, the franchise's first film in 12 years, following 2010's Jackass 3, was such a box office success that a new Jackass TV series is in the works over at Paramount+.

As Variety notes, the news came from the mouth of Paramount Global CEO Bob Bakish during a Tuesday morning (May 3rd) call regarding the company's Q1 earnings. "Based off the success of Jackass Forever, we're working with the creators to continue the partnership with a new series, bringing even more ridiculous antics straight to Paramount+," Bakish said.

It's unclear what the series will exactly entail — how many episodes, what the format is, and whether the original Jackass crew will be involved. Notably, Jackass ringleader Johnny Knoxville has been open about a particularly brutal fall he took during a bull-riding stunt for Jackass Forever, which caused severe head trauma and finally convinced him it was time, at the age of 51, to start handing off his stunts to younger guns.

This new TV series will follow the May 20th arrival of Jackass 4.5 on Netflix, which includes extra footage from Jackass Forever that didn't make it into the film's final cut. Jackass fans have a lot to be thankful for right now.
