Ozzy Osbourne gave a shout-out to a special someone down below for keeping him safe from COVID-19. In a recent statement shared with Metal Hammer, The Prince of Darkness cheekily credited his life-long devotion to the almighty Satan for preventing him from catching the virus while members of his family weren't as lucky.

"My wife had the virus, my daughter had the virus and I never got it," Osbourne said. "Being a devil worshipper does have its good points!"

The 72-year-old has been dealing with a litany of other health issues over the last few years — Parkinson's, a broken neck, a nasty bout of pneumonia — and members of his immediate family battled COVID-19, so it honestly does seem like divine intervention (perhaps of the Luciferian variety) may have played a part in preventing the virus from becoming another episode in Osbourne's streak of awful luck.

Fortunately, the pandemic has actually been a fruitful time for the Great Ozz, at least creatively speaking. His follow-up album to 2020's Ordinary Man is already well under way, and he announced earlier this month that Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi, longtime collaborator Zakk Wylde, rock pioneer Eric Clapton and jazz fusion virtuoso Jeff Beck all make guest appearances on the still-untitled 13th opus.

Here's to hoping that Satan, the good spirits of heavy metal and modern medicine continue to keep Osbourne healthy so he can continue hellraising long into his golden years.
