See Alice in Chains' Jerry Cantrell Throw First Pitch at Seattle Mariners Game

Grunge band kicks off week-long special-event tour ahead of August 24th release of new album 'Rainier Fog'

To kick off a week full of events surrounding the release of their latest album, Rainier Fog, Alice in Chains' guitarists and co-lead singers Jerry Cantrell and William DuVall hit Seattle's Safeco Field to throw out the ceremonial first pitch in the Mariners' Monday night game against the Houston Astros.

During an interview with a Seattle local news station, Cantrell rates himself an "eight out of ten" fan of the Mariners, noting his preferred sport is football — but footage of his throwing skills shows he's no slouch when it comes to America's favorite pastime. Cantrell and DuVall also hosted a listening party and meet-and-greet for fans at the stadium during their appearance where fans received a tee shirt and advance copy of the CD.

Later this week, Seattle venue The Crocodile will host an Alice in Chains pop-up shop and retrospective where fans can view and purchase rare merchandise and memorabilia. Admission is free and no tickets are required. The release week festivities also include the band playing a historic show atop Seattle's iconic Space Needle on August 21st, and will culminate with a live performance by the band at KSIW Seattle's annual summer concert event Pain in the Grass, held at the White River Amphiteatre this Saturday, August 25th.

Three songs from Rainier Fog are available so far: including "So Far Under," "The One You Know" and the most recent "Never Fade." The album's official release is set for Friday, August 24th and is available for pre-order on the band's official Warner Music page
