See Dave Grohl Give His Severed Head To Jimmy Kimmel

"I think I'm going to give this to my mom," comedian responds

This past Halloween, Dave Grohl filled in for Jimmy Kimmel as the host of Jimmy Kimmel Live. At the end of the episode, the rocker enlisted Alice Cooper to join the Foo Fighters in a medley of "Ballad of Dwight Fry" and "Killer," which culminated with Cooper sending Grohl to the guillotine. The guy clearly lived to tell the tale, which begs the question: what became of his lopped-off noggin?

We finally got our answer on last night's episode of Kimmel (August 2nd) when Grohl presented the comedian with a gruesome token of appreciation for the aforementioned guest-host role: his severed head. "I took it home, I scared my kids with it, I scared the housekeeper with it, and it got to the point where I was like 'I gotta get this out of the house," Grohl explained.

Kimmel accepted the gift, albeit with some hesitation. "You know what I'm going to do with this? I think I'm going to give this to my mom." He went on to add, "I've never had a guest give me his head before. This is very exciting!" (To that second point, Grohl quipped: "I could make jokes, but I won't." Get your mind out of the gutter, guy!)

Elsewhere in the chat, Grohl detailed Foo Fighters' upcoming, self-run Cal Jam Festival, as well as Play, his recently announced solo project. He also shared a story about holding an impromptu jam with Prince in an empty arena. "I sat down at this drum set and we started playing 'Whole Lotta Love' by Led Zeppelin," he recalled. "It was the most amazing experience of my entire life." Check out highlights of Grohl's Kimmel appearance below.
