See Euronymous Mock Varg Vikernes Over Name Change in New 'Lords of Chaos' Clip

Teaser for Norwegian black-metal film also shows Burzum musician taunted for not drinking

A new teaser from the ever-closer Lords of Chaos film has appeared, and this one shows the now-notorious Burzum creator Varg Vikernes in what appears to be one of his first times hanging out with Mayhem.

In the clip, Vikernes is offered a beer from Rory Culkin's Euronymous before saying "No thanks, I don't drink." The stunned frontman looks on at the newcomer, and one of the group chimes in "You want a glass of milk?" in a laughing tone before the pile-on continues. "What's your name?" continues the agitator, before Euronymous points his beer toward Vikernes and says, "It's Christian, right?"

Varg's notorious history is widely known now, but the incidents shown here are set before he even began his anti-Christianity crusade by burning down historical churches in Norway in an act of protest against the dogmatic practices and forced assimilation of the region to the religion. As the taunter asks, "Are you a Christian, Christian?" Varg angrily answers, "Not anymore," and glares around the room. Pushed on, he announces "I changed my name ... to Varg."

The scene freezes and superimposed corpse paint is digitally painted on Emory Cohen, the actor playing Varg Vikernes. Catch the film in theaters February 8th to see the full, dramatized telling of the events of the early 1990s Norwegian black metal scene.
