See Jack Black, Tom Morello, Tool's Adam Jones at Dio Charity Bowling Event

Event raised money for late singer's Ronnie Jame Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund

Now that he's named Ronnie James Dio's Holy Diver the most metal album cover, Jack Black continued his fandom by participating in the fourth annual "Bowl for Ronnie" event alongside legends like Geezer Butler, Tom Morello and Tool's Adam Jones. An interview with Dio's widow, Wendy, shows her true enthusiasm and delight with how successful the evening went, saying "I'm so excited, and I'm so overwhelmed that everyone gives their time and their talent for this event to raise money for cancer."

Black's video interview starts with the comedian cracking jokes about how terrible his bowling game is, and he promises to walk away once he's thrown a strike. As cutaway footage shows him knocking over a single pin on one particularly terrible turn, he says, "Ronnie James Dio: huge influence on me and a personal friend. Miss him terribly; greatest heavy metal singer of all time, and such a sweet, genuine dude... I'm so lucky to have known him for the time that I did."

The yearly event raises funds for the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund, which is "dedicated to support research and education that furthers early detection, prevention and treatment of prostate, colon and stomach cancers" and has raised over $2 million to date.
