See Korn Announce Launch of Korn Koffee

Nu-metal pioneers release own unique blend of beans for connoisseurs

Korn joined Revolver today in a Facebook Live announcement of the arrival of Korn Koffee, the band's very own special coffee blend that promises to please even the most discerning java drinkers. The group laid out the inspiration behind the concept in the video (which you can watch above), citing their own consumption of the beverage on tour as a main deciding factor. Guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer says, "It's good to have something to really kick you in the pants in the morning." The band partnered with J. Gursey coffee to carefully curate their namesake brew, testing many versions onsite at the factory and using their tasting skills honed from years of drinking coffee all over the world.

The winning concoction is a unique blend of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, Guatemalan Huehuetenago, and Organic Peru beans mixed with J. Gursey Coffee's top-selling Vintage Black Diamond blend. J. Gursey is a fair trade certified company whose Rain Forest Alliance Certified Brazilian and Peruvian coffees are sourced to ensure sustainability and agriculture to protect both the environment and workers' rights. On the product's creation, the band say, "After almost 25 years of touring, making records and playing in front of all of our amazing fans (you), one thing has remained a constant in our daily routine: coffee. The ritual, the brew, the aroma and most importantly, that very first cup every morning that sets the tone, is something we look forward to every day. Because of our passion, we've gotten together with a roaster and handcrafted our very own blend of Koffee. We hope you enjoy, share, and join us in savoring many cups of Koffee for years to come."

Korn learned the ins and outs of coffee making from the makers at J. Gursey directly at the company's factory. Munky and drummer Ray Luzier relay their experiences in the clip, outlining their lessons in beans, roasting practices and the science behind what affects taste of the finished product. You can grab your own bag of Korn Koffee on the band's official Kornerstore, and check back for updates concerning their forthcoming 2019 tour dates.
