Best known in heavy-music circles as the bassist of NYHC-turned-alt-metal veterans Life of Agony, Alan Robert has also been making a name for himself as the creator and illustrator of The Beauty of Horror coloring book series. When he hasn't been recommending headbanging Halloween costume ideas for Revolver, he's been working on the latest installment in the franchise, The Beauty of Horror 5: Haunt of Fame, which draws, in part, on his love of rock & roll. "It's like a twisted wax museum filled with all of my favorite pop culture stars," Robert commented. "Similar to how [recurring character] Ghouliana took on horror icons in the last book, this time she tackles rock royalty, sports heroes, and famous faces from TV and film."
Today (February 17th), Robert has teamed with Revolver to reveal an exclusive spread from the book that features two late, great heavy-metal icons: Motörhead's Lemmy Kilmister and Ozzy Osbourne guitar hero Randy Rhoads. See below. "Music is in my DNA, so it was a blast to zombify some of my personal heroes while creating this book," LOA's bassist tells us. "As you flip through, you'll find that it's one big homage to the greats we've lost ... and the real fun came when I had them interact with some of my original characters, like fan favorite Ghouliana. I think music and horror fans will really get a kick out of this bizarre mashup!"
