See Linda Hamilton Kick Ass in New 'Terminator: Dark Fate' Trailer

Reboot picks up story right after 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day'

Linda Hamilton is back as Sarah Connor in the highly anticipated Terminator: Dark Fate, which was directed by Deadpool's Tim Miller, and she takes center stage in the new trailer for the movie. The film picks up the narrative after James Cameron's Terminator 2: Judgment Day, ignoring the intervening installments in the franchise. The new trailer sees Hamilton's character relaying her backstory to Mackenzie Davis' "enhanced human" before the two team up with Arnold Schwarzenegger, who promises to help them in their mission of protecting a young girl. Plenty of explosive action follows, with Hamilton even quipping, "I'll be back" at one point.

"One of the things that seemed obvious from looking at the films that came along later was that we would need to get everything back to the basics and that we would need to avoid the mistakes of making things overly complex and that we needed to avoid stories that jumps around in time and one that goes backward and forward in time," Cameron recently told Deadline of Dark Fate. "Let's keep it simple in the relative unity of time. With the story, let's have the whole thing play out in 36 hours or 48 hours. In the first two movies everything plays out in less than two days in each one so there's energy and momentum."

Terminator: Dark Fate is set to hit theaters November 1st.
