TOOL launched pre-orders for the prog-metal psychonauts' first-ever statue offering today (December 16th), and along with it, the band shared video of their singer, Maynard James Keenan, unboxing the deluxe collectible. Keenan does so in the guise of one of his Puscifer alter egos, Agent Dick Merkin, joined by drummer Josh Freese (GN'R, APC, NIN, etc.) — watch the hilarity that ensues below.

The half-scale "Fetus in Skull Maquette" was created under the direction of TOOL guitarist and visual guru Adam Jones, and inspired by visionary artist Alex Grey's "Skull Fetus" artwork for the band's fourth studio album, 2006's 10,000 Days

The hand-numbered statue is limited to 3,100 units — 515 of which have been signed by band members and retail at the price of $999. The remaining 2,585 unsigned pieces go for $499. A January 31st release date is expected. You can order yours at Store.ToolBand.com.
