Slipknot are in the ether this week. On Monday, an elementary school music teacher used one of the Iowa band's crushing songs to teach her fifth graders about time signatures, and now an extremely talented nail artist has showcased a stunning tribute to all nine original members.
A manicurist named Miya who posts on TikTok as "@thenailritual" made a video exhibiting some of the most expensive jobs they've ever done for their clients. The montage includes some truly elaborate designs that look like expensive jewelry or art that's beautiful enough to hang in your living room, and then it ends with the piece de resistance: an extraordinary rendering of 10 different Slipknot masks — all nine members and then an additional one for Joey Jordison's old mask — that are each painted on separate nails.
The detail and coloring are genuinely stunning, so it's not surprising to see Miya's caption claiming that the client shelled out a whopping $550 (and some Chinese takeout) for the job well done. The video is fittingly soundtracked by Slipknot's "People=Shit" and you can check it out below.
