Iowa Nine will become playable skins in popular battle arena game

Ever wanted to control the members of Slipknot while they duke it out in an epic arena battle? You're in luck! The Iowa Nine will now be available as playable skins in the video game Smite, a third-person battle arena game in the vein of League of Legends and Overwatch

Later this month, three of the god characters in the game — Poseidon, Chaac and Raijin — will be able to don the outfits of Slipknot's band members — masks, instruments and all — and roam the map ready to engage in battle. In the trailer for the game, you can see them duke it out against massive beastial foes, including a few disgusting maggot creatures (yes, literal maggots, not their lovely fans) that look delightfully kill-able.

The skins don't have an official release date yet but supposedly they're coming later this month. Watch the trailer above via YouTube.
