See Tense Trailer for Fred Durst-Directed Stalker Film Starring John Travolta

Helmed by Limp Bizkit frontman, "The Fanatic" looks genuinely chilling

Perhaps the last thing anyone expected Fred Durst to do nearly 20 years on from his heyday with rap-metal juggernauts Limp Bizkit was pivot into directing sophisticated thrillers starring the likes of Hollywood superstar John Travolta and former teen heartthrob Devon Sawa, but the newly-released trailer for his film The Fanatic suggests that the 48-year-old "Nookie" singer has done exactly that.

Starring Travolta as Moose, the disturbed main character who becomes obsessed with his favorite movie star Hunter Dunbar (Sawa), the clip shows the progression of antihero's fandom through a simple meet-and-greet leading to a conversation with a paparazzo that earns him Dunbar's home address.

"I just wanted an autograph!" screams Moose in the trailer over a scene of him sneaking into Dunbar's yard. After a run-in with his idol turns sour, Moose escalates the situation by sneaking into the actor's home, and things take a violent turn. Rope, fire and knives come into play, and it becomes apparently the meeting between the two won't end with a simple signing.

The Fanatic hits theaters on August 30th, with a Video-On-Demand and digital release coming just a week later on September 6th.
