The original 1989 film adaptation of Stephen King's Pet Sematary is bona fide classic of horror cinema, tapping into many basic, primordial fears with merciless skill and featuring an unassailable assist from the Ramones, in the form of an original song of the same name. None of which, of course, has kept movie producers from remaking it. Set to hit a big screen near you in April 2019, the new Pet Sematary unleashed its first official trailer today, and while we're inclined to be skeptical, we have to admit that it does look pretty damn unnerving. Kids in creepy masks, hissing cats, backwoods graveyards abound. The movie was directed by Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kölsch and it stars Jason Clarke as Dr. Louis Creed, John Lithgow as Jud Crandall and Amy Seimetz as Rachel. Check out the trailer above, and throw back to the Ramones below.
