Already well-known to readers of the comics, the Walking Dead TV series introduced a totally unnerving new group of baddies known as the Whisperers in its mid-season finale. À la Leatherface or Slipknot's Corey Taylor circa Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses), these creepazoids wear the faces of skinned zombies so they can blend in with the actual undead, speaking in hushed tones, hence their name. The Whisperers are led by Alpha (played by Samanta Morton), a character who promises to loom large in the second half of Season 9, and who gets a mighty creepy introduction in a new video teaser released today (December 20th.) Check it out above, and maybe turn down the volume on the video and crank up "Duality" instead while you watch.
