World of Warcraft's seventh expansion pack, Battle for Azeroth, officially launches today, August 14th. Inspired by the classic storylines of the original Warcraft games, the iconic MMORPG's latest entry has players battling in the titular war on behalf of either the Alliance or the Horde (traditionally viewed as the good guys and the bad guys, respectively).
Given its smorgasbord of new content — not to mention the 25 years of history inspiring it — Battle for Azeroth should be quite the skirmish. It makes sense, then, that Blizzard's cinematic preview of the new expansion prominently includes Metallica's "For Whom the Bell Tolls:" more specifically its forlorn opening, which pairs well with World of Warcraft's medieval setting.
World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth is available now where video games are sold. Fun fact: Back in 2014, Metallica performed at BlizzCon, a gaming convention doubling as the world's premiere World of Warcraft-related gathering.
