Watch Teens Enter Realm of Tentacle-Filled Horror in New 'Slender Man' Trailer

Creepypasta urban legend and internet meme hits the big screen on August 10th

Slender Man is a mysterious, confusing, creepy-as-fuck internet meme/urban legend that inspired actual attempted murder.

So it makes sense that sooner or later Hollywood producers would spin the fearsome Creepypasta character into a full-length movie. The film follows a group of high schoolers as they deal with their best friend Kate suddenly disappearing. They go to her house, where they find she was obsessed with drawing hundreds of versions of a strange man with tentacles bursting from his body, and the last website she visited featured a black-and-white photograph of the exact same figure at a playground (an homage to one of the original Photoshopped pictures of Slender Man).

The trailer reveals the group of friends as they attempt to summon Slender Man in an effort to bring back Kate. It turns awry (of course) and soon they each become haunted by Slender Man himself. The trailer ends with the lead character in the direct presence of Slender Man as she's enveloped by his tentacles. The movie looks to be a hell of a ride, and it'll be interesting to see just how well a meme can be adapted to the big screen. See it on August 10th.
