Watch Tina Fey Sing System of a Down's "Chop Suey!" on 'Saturday Night Live'

Coolest mom ever

Any episode of Saturday Night Live where Tina Fey makes a guest appearance is usually better than the rest. But this was especially true this past Saturday (May 19th), when she took part in a skit that spotlighted the music of a everyone's favorite Armenian-American metal band, System of a Down. In the segment, Fey plays the part of an overbearing mother joining her super-goth daughter (played by Melissa VillaseƱor) at a talent show to sing a duet.

Mom wants the two to sing Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," which her kid isn't super down with, leading her interject her own spin on things. After the two have a little bit of a tiff, they come back for the daughter's choice, System of a Down's "Chop Suey!" Fey's character is reluctant at first, but joins in at the end, providing the song with the exuberant "you wanted to!" parts. It's pretty perfect.
