Witches, Satan, End Times: See Chilling New 'American Horror Story: Apocalypse' Trailer

Series' eighth season is mashup of horror anthology's two most popular themes

Trailers and previews for the new season of FX mega-hit American Horror Story: Apocalypse are rolling in after months of speculation, and eager fans can now get a feel for how series creator Ryan Murphy has intertwined together the show's two most popular themes: Murder House and Coven. Clips from the new season, premiering Wednesday, September 12th, hint at a hellish post-nuclear landscape led by the witches of season 3 and their trusty leader, Satan himself.

Returning for the season are series favorites from the Coven house Jessica Lange and Emma Roberts, despite both being killed off during their original run (more than once for Roberts). The set-up is something of a greatest-hits mashup, with rumors circulating that the series will end after its confirmed ninth season so each season represents one of Dante's circles of Hell. Not one to bypass dramatic flourishes, Murphy also confirmed Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks will reprise her witchy cameo from the Coven season. The trailer also features an appearance by the distinguished Joan Collins, though her scene appears to be mid-plane crash so only time will tell if her character lasts longer than an episode.
