Zombieland — the 2009 post-apocalyptic horror comedy featuring possibly the greatest use of a Metallica song in cinematic history (see above) — is due to hit theaters with a long-awaited sequel later this year. The second installment in the series sees the return of original stars Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin, who appeared today (January 29th) in an unusual 10-year challenge pitting the original movie's poster against that of the forthcoming film. New cast members include Sin City badass Rosario Dawson, who joins other Zombieland newcomers Zoey Deutch and Avan Jogia. Shooting will reportedly begin this week.
Directed by Zombieland's Ruben Fleischer, the sequel will focus on how "the zombie slayers must face off against the many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors," according to Deadline. Of course, the real question is, will Metallica appear on the soundtrack, and will Bill Murray pop up for another cameo? We can only hope.
