Last August, Southern sludge supergroup Down celebrated the 25th anniversary of their classic debut LP, NOLA, with a special livestreamed event dubbed "The Quarter Century Throwdown." Today (July 7th), they announced plans for a follow-up virtual concert, this one fittingly titled "NOLA Town Throwdown."

The event will see the band — featuring vocalist Philip H. Anselmo, guitarists Pepper Keenan and Kirk Windstein, bassist Pat Bruders and drummer Jimmy Bower — return to the stage on Friday, August 13th, at the Fillmore in their hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana. Fans will be able to attend the show in person while those who can't make it will be able catch it in real time via livestream. Comedian and Witch Taint frontman Dave Hill will open the show.

"It's gonna be great to play our hometown again! Always a blast!" Anselmo commented. Bower added, "It's been way too long, y'all! I can't remember the last time we played NOLA. On Friday, August 13th we will play our hometown. A Down show y'all! Old friends, good times, and great tunes on a superstitious night! We're ready to jam, are you?"

Tickets go on sale Friday, July 9th, at 10 a.m. central time through LiveNation.com for the live event and Down-Nola.com for the livestream.
