For this, its fourth year, the event formerly known as Austin Terror Fest has taken on a new name and expanded its vision to incorporate a more diverse and compelling lineup than ever before. Dubbed Oblivion Access, the festival will take place June 5th through 7th in the Texas city's Red River Cultural District downtown and feature an eclectic mix of forward-thinking heavy-music artists ranging from death-grind titans Carcass and hardcore pioneers Youth of Today to sonic experimentalists Swans and unhinged noiserock crew Daughters. More than three dozen other eclectic acts — including Converge, Zola Jesus, Lil Ugly Mane and Windhand — will round out what's sure to be an unforgettable weekend.

A self-described "celebration of underground music and rock culture," Oblivion Access will take place at a series of local venues including Barracuda, Empire Control Room & Garage, and Mowhawk. Three-day passes are going for $200 a piece and are available now via the fest's official site. As with the first three incarnations of the event, Oblivion Access maintains its DIY status and is independently produced by Austin entrepreneurs Dusty Brooks and Dorian Domi. The pair work as successful music bookers for their main gig, but they are also passionate metal enthusiasts whose long-term goal is to continue growing the fest beyond its already-impressive scope.
